I was first elected to represent King’s Town district on Nov. 13, 2006. Since then I have served on a number of City committees including:
- Art, Recreation and Community Policies
- Environment, Infrastructure and Transportation Policies
- Waterfront Master Plan Working Group
- Downtown Business Improvement Association
In the community, I served on the Kingston Not-for-Profit Housing Association and as president of the Kingston Global Community Centre. I was the spokesperson for the Friends of the Memorial Centre, president of the Kingston Community Options Fund and of Kingcole Homes Inc. I have been a member of the Kingston Health Coalition, the Kingston Electricity Coalition, a founding member of the PIC Press community newspaper, and BASIC (Building A Stronger more Inclusive Community). I was co-ordinator and past president of Pollution Probe Kingston.
I earned an Honours BA in Philosophy and English from Queen’s University and am a graduate of the George Brown College Print Technology program, and the St. Lawrence College Municipal Administration and Social Services Administration diploma program. I have worked in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. I recently retired as the manager of Kingston Co-operative Homes, Inc.
I moved to Kingston in 1969. I am a father and grandfather.
